Off to Gina’s and Matt’s Wedding

Off to Gina’s and Matt’s Wedding

“It’s really coming down out there,” Tanner said. It had been raining for most of the morning.

“It’s a perfect day for Gina’s wedding,” Melania remarked.

“What about Matt? It’s his wedding day too.”

“You’re right. I shouldn’t have said what I said. As long as he’s happy, that’s all that really matters.”

“It was nice of them to invite us to their wedding although we didn’t invite them to ours.”

“We didn’t invite Matt because we thought it would be awkward for him and Gina was the last person I wanted at our wedding.”

“Well, it will be nice to see little Cam again. He’s truly a really sweet kid.”

“Yes, he is and that’s because he’s more like Matt.”

“You really dislike Gina, don’t you?”

“Yes, I do and I don’t think that will ever change.”

“Well, I hope that you two will be civil to each other at the wedding for Matt’s sake.”

“I’ll do my best to be civil to her. We’d better leave now or we’ll be late for the wedding ceremony. You grab the wedding gift and I’ll get Rebecca.” Rebecca was their baby girl. Melania gave birth to her in January. The baby was now a year old.

“This will be the first time that they are going to see our little angel.”

Melania smiled. “I’m sure that Matt and Cam are looking forward to meeting her. She’s looks so adorable in her little dress.”

“She will definitely get her share of attention. She might even upstage the bride.” Tanner chuckled at the thought.

“I’m sure the bride wouldn’t like that,” Melania muttered before she left their bedroom to go into the baby’s room. Rebecca greeted her with a toothy, “Mama”.

After covering her chubby face with kisses, Melania put on her little coat with a hood. She picked her up and went into the foyer. She set her down on the ground while she grabbed her own raincoat. Tanner took the toddler up and she put her arms happily around his neck. “The stroller is already in the trunk of the car,” he told Melania.

“Let’s go then.” Melania picked up the wedding gift and locked the door. They headed for the elevator which would take them down to the underground garage. She would have preferred to stay home and enjoy the afternoon and evening with Tanner and Rebecca. I’m only going because of Matt, she thought. And, it would be nice to see Cam whom she hadn’t seen in a long time.
